DUES

When a Scout initially joins the Troop, they pay $30.00. This money goes towards registration, a one years subscription to Boy’s Life magazine, all awards, a tent, and Troop operations. A Troop T-Shirt or Class B uniform is included with the joining fee. The Troop also sells Troop sweatshirts. Additional Troop T-Shirts or sweatshirts can be purchased by contacting our T-Shirt Coordinator     With the style and size desired. We now have long sleeved T-Shirts too.

Every September ALL Scouts pay a $55.00 sustaining membership fee. This fee goes towards re-registration, a one years subscription to Boy’s Life magazine, awards, and Troop operations.

FINANCIAL COMMITMENTS

Each month the Troop goes on a campout. The fees for campouts are as follows:

$5.00 for Transportation to camp

$0 to $40.00 for Camp Fees, depending on location

$5.00 for Lunch on the way home

$5.00 to $15.00 for Sunday Breakfast and Saturday Dinner bought by Patrol (Scouts usually bring their own lunch for Saturday)

?? Spending Money

Money is also collected for Summer Camp and Special Outings. The cost for Summer Camp is $380.00 for the week in 2004.

ALL TROOP MONEY IS TO BE COLLECTED AND GIVEN TO THE TROOP TREASURER FOR ALL TROOP ACTIVITIES. Please pay by check if at all possible. Make sure the Scout’s name and the function which you are paying for are on the check. Please send the check directly to the Troop Treasurer if at all possible.

MAKE ALL CHECKS PAYABLE TO BOY SCOUT TROOP 113

Money for campouts is also collected by a designated Committee Member at Troop Meetings.

SCOUT’S ACCOUNTS

Each Scout has a Troop Account set up for them within the Troop. Parent’s who drive get money for gas automatically credited to their Scout’s account. If the parent wishes, they may request from the Troop Treasurer to have a check made out to them for their portion of the Transportation money instead of the money being credited to their Scout’s account.

Scout’s also get money credited to their account by selling tickets to our annual Spaghetti Dinner and other fundraisers. For the Spaghetti dinner, $3.00 of each ticket sold is either divided up among Scout’s who sold tickets during Group Sales and credited to a Scout’s account or directly credited to the Scout’s account during Individual Sales. The remaining $1.00 is used for Troop operations.

The money in a Scout’s account can be used to pay for any Scouting function, fee, or to purchase equipment needed for Scouts. If you wish to use money from your Scout’s account, please inform the Troop Treasurer. Money may also be automatically taken out of a Scout’s account to pay for Troop or Patrol fees that the Scout has failed to pay or for damages that the Scout has caused the Troop by the Troop Treasurer and / or Committee.

It is recommended that Scout’s save money in their account for use on High Adventure Trips and other costly trips only.

Any refunds from trips will be credited to your Scout’s account unless you request a check from the Troop Treasurer.

The money in a Scout’s account belongs to the Troop. If a Scout leaves the Troop, the money in the Scout’s account is retained by the Troop.
