TROOP GUIDE
JOB DESCRIPTION

REQUIREMENTS: Star Rank and 14 years old
CHOSEN BY: Appointed by Scoutmaster
TERM: One Year
REPORTS TO: SPL, ASPL – Training and Discipline, and
Patrol Advisor
DUTIES:
- Assist in Training New Patrol Leaders
- Assist in Patrol Planning
- Assist Assigned Scouts Individually if needed.
- Assure that New Scouts are not harassed by older
Scouts
- Counsels individual scouts on Scouting challenges
- Explain Advancement procedures to New Scouts
- Meet with New Scouts to go over camping equipment
- Assist with Patrol Advancement
- Attend at least One Troop Meeting per month to assist
in Instruction and Advancement
- Attends at least 75% of Troop and Patrol meetings and
activities.
- Must be proficient in Basic Scouting Skills.
- Sign off on Rank advancement for Tenderfoot through
First Class in accordance with Troop’s Advancement Guidelines.
