KNIFE AND AXE POLICY
Effective immediately, all Scouts who are using knives or axes at Troop or Patrol activities MUST have their Tot’N’Chip card in plain view while they are using a knife or axe. This includes food preparation. If an Adult Leader or Patrol Leader’s Council member misusing a knife or axe sees a Scout, one corner of their Tot’N’Chip will be cut off of their card. For gross misuse, more than one corner can be taken off or the whole card can be taken with Scoutmaster approval. Scouts will then need to take another class to earn another Tot’N’Chip before they can use a knife or axe again.
Scouts may have a knife packed in their gear for emergencies if they do not have a Tot’N’Chip, but may not use it. Scouts who use a knife or axe without a Tot’N’Chip will have their knives or axes confiscated and returned later to their parents.
