SENIOR PATROL ENTRANCE TEST

In an effort to improve the Troop's Advancement Program, Scouts must pass a Written and Skills test in order to join the Troop's Senior Patrol. The test is on Requirements for Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class. After passing the test, Scouts will be able to sign off on selective requirements for Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class in Scout's Handbooks.
Eligibility Requirements
The Senior Patrol Entrance Test (SPET) will be given twice each year, once in January and once during the summer.
Any Scout that is at least 13 years of age and at least First Class may take the SPET the next time the SPET is offered.
Scouts may take the SPET as many times as needed until they pass all of the requirements
ALL Scouts that pass the SPET may sign off requirements for Tenderfoot, Second Class, or First Class in accordance with the Troop's Advancement Policies even if they are not yet in the Senior Patrol
Scouts must score 100% on the SPET in order to pass.
Scouts that do not pass less than 3 requirements in total MAY be eligible to retest only on the requirements that they did not pass if possible without taking the entire test over again.
Scouts do not need to retake sections of the SPET that they have already passed, only the sections where they had requirements that they did not pass.
CURRENT MEMBERS OF THE SENIOR AND TRANSITION PATROLS MUST TAKE THE SPET IN JANUARY 2007 IN ORDER TO CONTINUE SIGNING OFF REQUIREMENTS. SENIORS AND TRANSITION PATROL MEMBERS THAT DO NOT PASS THE SPET MAY ONLY SIGN OFF REQUIREMENTS FOR SECTIONS WHICH THEY PASSED. THEY WILL HAVE TO RETAKE THE SECTIONS THAT THEY DID NOT PASS THE NEXT TIME IT IS OFFERED IN ORDER TO SIGN OFF REQUIREMENTS FROM THOSE SECTIONS.
CURRENT SCOUTS AT LEAST 13 YEARS OLD, NOT IN THE SENIOR PATROL MUST PASS THE SPET IN ORDER TO CONTINUE SIGNING OFF REQUIREMENTS AFTER JANUARY 1, 2007.
Test Dates
The SPET will be offered on Saturday, January, 20, 2007 from 9 AM to 3 PM at the Scout Shack.
SPET Sections
The SPET is divided into Sections based on the type of skill. There are both Skills and Written Sections. The SPET Sections are in the Tables below:
