CAMP EMERALD BAY 2010 INFORMATION
The Troop will be going to Camp Emerald Bay August 15th through 21st 2010. The cost is around $520 per Scout. Adult fees are less than $275 per each adult. If you are interested in going, please E-Mail

The following High Adventure Programs being offered at Emerald Bay this year are for Scouts at least 14 years old to attend. There may be medical restrictions. All participants must have Swimming Merit Badge and pass a Swimming Test at camp. There is Homework and studying that must be completed PRIOR to arriving at camp.
Please call Erik Mayer for more detailed information about each Program. Please visit Rugged Adventurers - EXPLORE for more information. Scouts interested in attending one of these Programs during a week other than the week that the Troop goes to camp may sign up as a Provisional Scout and go on your own. Adults may also sign up.
All of the Programs are designed to promote Team Work and Leadership. Participants will not be in camp most of the week nor will there be time to work on Merit Badges or participate in other regular camp activities.
Cost is included in the regular camp fee unless otherwise noted.
Please note that if you are currently signed up to go with the Troop to Emerald Bay in August 2010 and decide to do one of the Programs below instead, your spot for the regular EB Program will be given up. You also must sign up for one of these Programs in advance. You cannot decide once you arrive at EB that you want to do one of the Programs below instead.

Hiking, Mountain Biking, Wilderness First Aid, Navigation by GPS, Canoeing, Snorkeling, and Marine Radio Use. This Program sounds somewhat similar to the old "Rugged E" Program. Pick this Program if you want to do a little of everything. | ||

War Canoe Trip around Catalina Island. Over 50 miles in the ocean. There is a 14 participant minimum for the Program (not participants from the Troop) in order for the Program to commence. Requires Canoeing MB prior to attending camp. | ||

Advanced SCUBA for those who already have their basic SCUBA certification. Dive more than once per day. Learn advanced diving techniques, including search and recovery, light salvage, night time, and simulated decompression diving. Will also do sea kayaking. Marine Biology and Ecology |
